Reduced rate for students, pensioners, conscripts and visitors with a certified degree of disability of 50% or more. Valid proof required.

  • By train & bus

    Arrive relaxed – by train straight to Mallnitz

    Mallnitz lies directly on the Tauern railway line and is easy to reach from both sides of the Alps: from the north via Salzburg and Bad Gastein, and from the south via Villach and Spittal, as well as from Vienna and the east.

    Your destination is Mallnitz-Obervellach station. From the station, it is around a 20-minute walk to BIOS National Park Centre Mallnitz, following the Mallnitzbach stream and continuing through the village centre.

    Depending on your connection, regional bus services are also available for onward travel.

  • By car

    A scenic drive to Mallnitz

    From the north · Salzburg / Bad Gastein
    Travel through the Gastein Valley to Böckstein, where the ÖBB Tauern car shuttle takes you directly through the mountain to Mallnitz. Alternatively, take the A10 Tauern motorway via Spittal an der Drau and continue into the Möll Valley.

    From the east & south-east · Vienna / Graz / Klagenfurt
    Take the A2 towards Villach, then continue via Spittal an der Drau and through the Möll Valley to Mallnitz.

    From the south · Villach / Spittal an der Drau
    Travel via Spittal an der Drau and continue through the Möll Valley to Mallnitz.
